Amazon Cargo Plane Overshoots Runway in Miami, Killing At Least 5

A cargo plane belonging to Amazon's Prime Air overshot the runway during landing at Miami International Airport in Florida on September 6, crashing into a nearby farm and killing at least five people. Five others were injured, with three in critical condition. The Boeing 767-300 freighter, flight number 7598, was arriving from Puerto Rico when the incident occurred around 2 p.m. local time. The aircraft went off the west end of the runway, impacting multiple vehicles in the farm adjacent to the airport. Miami Fire Department reported that rescue teams faced challenges extracting numerous victims trapped within the wreckage. Firefighters managed to pull out the two pilots from the cockpit as the aircraft's engines were on fire. Jet fuel was also reported to have leaked from the rear of the plane. Videos circulating on social media showed thick smoke and flames erupting from the Prime Air-branded aircraft, which appeared to have veered across the runway. The plane was seen engulfed in flames and smoke before the fire was extinguished.
