Cambodian People's Party Welcomes Over 3,000 New Members in Capital

The Cambodian People's Party (CPP) held a large-scale induction ceremony on July 4, 2026, at the Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Center in Phnom Penh, welcoming a total of 3,087 new members from the five communes of Chamkar Mon district. The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Heng Sour, a member of the CPP Central Committee and head of the party's working group for grassroots activities in Chamkar Mon district. Mr. Heng Sour warmly welcomed the new members joining the CPP, a party rich in history and experience, and highlighted the numerous victories and contributions the party has achieved for the nation. He conveyed greetings from CPP President Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Honorary President Samdech Chea Sim, and the five deputy presidents, emphasizing the exemplary conduct of the party's leaders, the dedication of each party member, and the importance of remembering the party's history, achievements, and policies. Mr. Heng Sour also pointed out the party's emphasis on the approach of "maintaining the old and increasing the new" and urged new members to remember the party's history, its founding purpose, its emblem, and its slogan, and to adhere to the party's statutes and national laws. He explained that the party's success stems from its political legitimacy in all circumstances, its connection with the people, its collective leadership and individual responsibility, its strong organizational structure at all levels, its integrity, morality, careful consideration for succession, and robust internal unity. He further emphasized that the CPP is the only political party that has overthrown the genocidal regime, saved the nation, restored and developed the country, and built independence, peace, freedom, democracy, neutrality, and social progress. A representative of the new CPP members stated that only the Cambodian People's Party possesses a political program and leadership with high patriotism and has made significant contributions to the nation and its people. The new members pledged to follow the party's political program and statutes, vote for the CPP with 100% certainty, maintain internal unity, disseminate the party's political program and national laws to the people, and mobilize members to ensure the party's continuous victory. This induction ceremony is seen as part of the Cambodian People's Party's ongoing efforts to strengthen its base and expand its influence domestically.
