64% of Filipinos believe their House rep is doing a ‘good job’ – survey

MANILA, Philippines — Majority of Filipinos believe their district representative is doing a “good job” performing their role at the House of Representatives, according to Octa Research. Based on its second quarter Tugon ng Masa survey released on Monday, Octa Research noted that 64 percent of Filipinos said their current congressman or congresswoman is doing a good job. This survey result suggests that Filipinos have a certain level of expectation and satisfaction with their politicians, particularly their representatives in the House. House representatives are tasked with legislative duties and advocating for their constituents' interests within the legislature. Such public perception could indicate that the representatives' activities are meeting voters' concerns and needs to some extent. In the Philippine political system, House representatives play a crucial role in deliberating on legislation that directly impacts citizens' lives and allocating budgets for local development.
