Labour Affairs: MOL Union Minister tours in Mandalay Region

Union Minister for Labour U Khin Maung Soe on 6th September visited the Labour Hospital (Mandalay) in Aung Myay Thazan Township, Mandalay and observed providing healthcare services for insured workers. He also inspected the medicine storage room and maintaining of medical equipment. The Union Minister also comforted the insured workers at the medical wards and patients who received the hemodialysis services, providing cash assistance. During the meeting with the staff, the Union Minister instructed to become a reliable organization for the insured workers, adding to provide better health care services to the employers and employees. Then, the Union Minister met with the ministry staff from Kyaukse and Meikhtila townships and observed the work operation at the offices. On 5th September, the Union Minister visited the Camera Lens Factory, operated by Burst Transmission Co., Ltd in Pyin Oo Lwin Township where he met with the officials, members of Workplace Coordination Committee (WCC) and Occupational Safety and Health Committee. The Union Minister stressed the importance of having transparency, mutual respect and understanding for achieving good relations between employers and employees and urged all to respect and follow the labour laws. He also stressed for open discussions on difficulties and challenges, while creating the pleasant workplace. The Union Minister then observed providing of healthcare services by specialists from the Labour Hospitals. The Union Minister also visited Township Social Security Clinic (Pyin Oo Lwin) and inspected the maintenance of the facility and medicines, and usage of medical equipment.
