Woman Seriously Injured by Lightning Strike While Riding Motorcycle in Central Vietnam
A woman in Nghe An province, central Vietnam, was seriously injured after being struck by lightning while riding a motorcycle on September 25. She was conscious and receiving medical treatment. The area was experiencing heavy thunderstorms at the time.
Around noon on September 25, a woman riding a motorcycle was struck by lightning near a roundabout in Truong Vinh ward, Nghe An province, central Vietnam, causing her motorcycle to swerve and fall. The area was experiencing heavy rain and thunderstorms at the time, with the sky turning dark. The victim has been identified as Ms. H.T.H. (born 1979, residing in Truong Vinh ward), who was traveling from Truong Thi street to Nguyen Phong Sac street. Footage from a dashcam of a car traveling immediately behind captured the moment of the lightning strike, accompanied by a blinding flash and a loud explosive sound. According to a representative from the Nghe An 115 Emergency Transport Center, upon arrival, the patient was conscious, responsive, and able to communicate. She sustained injuries to her head and burns on her right cheek and right arm. She was subsequently transferred to Nghe An General Friendship Hospital for emergency treatment.
