Battambang Province Issues Nearly 5,000 Land Titles to Over 2,000 Families

In Battambang Province, western Cambodia, on August 3, 2026, Governor Sok Lu distributed 4,923 land ownership certificates to 2,626 families in the villages of Damnak Ben, Damnak Ksan, and Ou Da in Buor Commune, Phnom Proek District. This ceremony reflects the high attention paid by the Cambodian government, led by Prime Minister Hun Manet, to ensuring land security for its citizens. Governor Sok Lu advised the residents who received ownership certificates to keep them safe, not to sell or mortgage the land, and to preserve it for future generations. The governor stated that for impoverished and vulnerable families identified by the Ministry of Planning, the land title issuance service is free. For general families, the service fee is 4 Riel per square meter for agricultural land and 30 Riel per square meter for residential land. Governor Sok Lu also urged the residents to abide by traffic laws, stay away from drugs, maintain environmental hygiene, and increase tree planting and fruit tree cultivation around their homes. He exhorted the citizens to unite, support, and trust the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet. The residents expressed their joy and deep gratitude to the government for providing these valuable land ownership certificates for their use and for their descendants.
