Cambodia: Senior Official Donates to Buddhist Temples in Takeo, Emphasizing Peace and Development

In Trapeang Thom Sanuol Commune, Tram Kak District, Takeo Province, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Interior and head of the government working group for the commune, Mao Phir, along with his wife, donated candles, cash, and other offerings to five Buddhist temples in the commune. The ceremony took place on July 19 at Mongkol Mieruk Pagoda in the commune. The event was attended by members of the government working group, district administrative officials, armed forces, monks, and a large number of Buddhist followers and residents. Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Mao Phir conveyed the deep regards and warm wishes of the country's senior leadership to the citizens and Buddhist followers. He clearly emphasized the immense value of "peace," stating that "peace allows for development in all sectors. Peace is the solid foundation that enables us to gather and perform religious traditions, such as offering candles for the rainy season today." Furthermore, the Undersecretary of State highlighted the unwavering efforts of the Cambodian government under the wise leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet, who consistently prioritizes the nation and its people. Through the implementation of the "Pentagon Strategy," the government aims to boost the national economy, build infrastructure to serve the livelihoods of the people, and maintain strong political stability. Therefore, he urged all citizens to continue to preserve and protect this peace for the future prosperity of the nation. During the ceremony, the head of the working group and his colleagues presented the donations, which included one bag of rice (50kg), a pair of rainy season candles, one box of instant noodles, two cases of bottled water, and one bottle of fish sauce for each of the five temples.
