The first dispersal cluster, extending from the surface up to an altitude of 20,000 feet (approximately 6,100 meters), was observed moving in a Northeast-South direction. This area is reported to include parts of the Jakarta metropolitan area, Banten province, West Java province, and surrounding waters. The second dispersal cluster reached altitudes of up to 50,000 feet (approximately 15,200 meters) and spread westward. This area encompasses Banten province, Lampung province, Bengkulu province, the southern part of the Sunda Strait, and the Indian Ocean west of Bengkulu, Lampung, and Banten. Anak Krakatau, an active volcano that emerged as a successor to the Krakatoa volcano in 1927, is known for its eruptions impacting surrounding regions. The arrival of volcanic ash in Jakarta raises concerns about air quality and potential disruptions to air travel.
