Interreligious Harmony Rated Most Successful Under Prabowo-Gibran: Poltracking Survey
A recent Indonesian survey by Poltracking reveals that interreligious harmony is considered the most successful area under the Prabowo-Gibran administration, with 72.5% of respondents acknowledging its success. This rating surpasses other government performance indicators, attributed to joint efforts between the government and the community.
A national survey conducted by Poltracking Indonesia in August 2026 reveals that interreligious harmony is the most successfully managed area under the administration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. A significant 72.5 percent of respondents assessed the government as successful in maintaining harmony among religious communities, a figure that surpasses assessments of other policy areas evaluated in the survey. Across all three national surveys conducted by Poltracking in 2026 (March, May, and August), interreligious harmony consistently ranked highest in terms of government success. Kamaruddin Amin, Secretary General of the Ministry of Religion, stated that these results are not solely attributable to government efforts but also to the community's collective endeavors. "I believe that this is not only due to the government's work but also the result of the community's efforts to take care of it together," Amin said in Jakarta on Wednesday, September 2. Amin further noted that the Ministry of Religion must remain vigilant in anticipating various dynamics of religious life that emerge within society. "At the same time, we at the Ministry of Religion are also continuing to strive to improve the quality of harmony and mitigate various dynamics that arise in the field," he added. The findings from the Poltracking survey align with the Index of Religious Harmony (IKUB) for 2025, which reached 77.89. According to the Ministry of Religion, this figure represents the highest score in the 11 years the index has been measured. Aman emphasized that maintaining harmony requires ongoing joint work with the government, religious organizations, religious leaders, and the broader community. The survey involved face-to-face interviews with 1,220 respondents and has a margin of error of approximately 2.9 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.
