Cambodian Minister Meets Japanese Ambassador, Discusses Digital Cooperation
Cambodia's Minister of Posts and Telecommunications met with the outgoing Japanese Ambassador to discuss strengthening cooperation in digital technology and national data centers. Both sides expressed commitment to continued collaboration.
Phnom Penh, July 1, 2026 – His Excellency Chea Vandeth, Minister of Posts and Telecommunications (MPTC), received His Excellency Ueno Atsushi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Cambodia, for a farewell courtesy call at the Ministry's headquarters on July 1, 2026. Ambassador Ueno is concluding his mission in Cambodia. During the meeting, Minister Chea Vandeth and Ambassador Ueno Atsushi discussed and exchanged views on matters related to digital technology, the national data center, past cooperation between the two institutions, and future collaborative endeavors. Both the Minister and the Ambassador pledged to further enhance the cooperation between their respective institutions. Additionally, Minister Chea Vandeth conveyed his best wishes for the Ambassador's future success in his missions.
