Honda Philippines Reaches 10 Million Motorcycle Production Milestone
Honda Philippines Inc. (HPI) has achieved a significant milestone by producing its 10 millionth motorcycle at its Batangas facility. This achievement highlights the brand's trust among Filipino consumers and its role as a key production base in the company's global strategy.
MANILA, Philippines — Honda Philippines Inc. (HPI) has reached a significant milestone, rolling out the 10-millionth motorcycle produced at its manufacturing facility in Batangas. In a statement, the motorcycle manufacturer said that the 10-millionth unit produced at its plant was a Click125 Smart Edition in Pearl Arctic White. The Click125 is popular among Filipino riders and is one of HPI’s best-selling models. HPI president Takeshi Kobayashi said the achievement was made possible by the Filipino consumers’ continued trust in the brand’s products and services. “This milestone of 10 million units was not achieved by Honda Philippines alone. It was made possible by our customers who have trusted Honda, our dealers who deliver our products and services to customers every day, our suppliers and partners who support our business and production and generations of associates who have put their pride and passion into every motorcycle we make,” he said. Following the milestone, he said that HPI aims to continue to create jobs and support both the motorcycle industry and the country’s growth. Honda Motor Co. Ltd. executive managing officer Minoru Kato expressed confidence that the milestone would enable HPI to continue to grow as it serves as one of the key production bases in the firm’s global motorcycle network and as consumer preferences evolve. “Today, customer needs and expectations are changing rapidly. People are looking for greater value that fits their daily lives, including safety, convenience and care for the environment. I hope today’s milestone of 10 million units will become the starting point for the next stage of growth for Honda Philippines,” he said. Looking ahead, HPI aims to continue to strengthen its manufacturing operations and achieve further growth in the country. HPI is the country’s leading motorcycle manufacturer. The firm started producing motorcycles at its first factory in Parañaque in May 1973. It later moved its factory to Batangas in April 2006. Earlier this year, HPI started exporting of the Click125 motorcycles to Cambodia and Laos in line with its aim to bring Philippine-made motorcycles to the global market.
