Kampong Speu Governor Urges Metfone to Expand Internet Services for Tourism and Connectivity
The Governor of Kampong Speu province has urged telecommunications company Metfone to expand its internet and mobile phone service network across the province. This expansion is seen as crucial for attracting tourists and advancing digitalization, particularly in tourist areas and rural regions, with a view towards 5G network deployment.
Kampong Speu Governor Dr. Cham Chansophann has urged and requested the telecommunications company Metfone to help expand internet and telephone service systems widely within the province. This is particularly aimed at key destinations, remote rural populations, and various tourist resorts, in order to attract tourists and facilitate communication, in line with the significant role of technology and the official launch of the 5G mobile network in the province. The Governor made these remarks when he granted an audience to Mr. Thiều Văn Nam, Director of Metfone's Kampong Speu Branch, who came to pay respects, introduce himself officially, and discuss work matters upon assuming his duties in Kampong Speu province. Mr. Thiều Văn Nam, Director of Metfone's Kampong Speu Branch, reported on the branch's operational status and introduced Metfone's various services. He also raised some challenges and difficulties in network infrastructure development, ensuring electricity supply, and security and safety for BTS stations. He also requested support for organizing business connection workshops and programs to assist workers and employees in the province. On this occasion, Governor Dr. Cham Chansophann praised and highly valued the efforts and contributions of Metfone's Kampong Speu Branch to the province's development, as well as Metfone's contributions to the Kingdom of Cambodia. The Governor also instructed relevant institutions and departments to cooperate in resolving challenges and creating favorable conditions for Metfone to continue developing and actively contributing to the economic and social development of the province. Concurrently, the Governor requested Metfone to expand its service network to mountainous and remote areas and ensure service quality in tourist destinations. The Director of Metfone's Kampong Speu Branch expressed his deep gratitude for the attention and support from the Governor and all relevant institutions, and pledged to strive further to enhance service quality and contribute effectively to the economic and social development of Kampong Speu province.
