Vietnam Kicks Off New School Year with Focus on Quality, Leadership Visits Schools

Vietnam has commenced the 2026-2027 academic year, marking a new phase in its commitment to enhancing educational quality. To celebrate the start of the new school year, Party and State leaders visited schools across various provinces, offering encouragement to teachers and students, and presenting awards and gifts to schools and students facing challenging circumstances. In Tay Ninh province, General Nguyen Trong Nghia, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Central Committee, and Director of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army, attended the opening ceremony of Tran Van Giau Specialized High School for the 2026-2027 academic year. On this occasion, General Nghia presented gifts to the school and to students from disadvantaged backgrounds. In Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Tran Luu Quang, Member of the Politburo and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, attended the opening ceremony of the new academic year at Tran Khai Nguyen High School in An Dong ward. Mr. Tran Luu Quang presented the Second-Class Labor Order, awarded by the President, to Tran Khai Nguyen High School. These visits by national leaders underscore the Vietnamese Communist Party's prioritization of education as a cornerstone for national development. Within Vietnam's one-party system, investment in and quality improvement of the education sector are deemed crucial for underpinning future economic growth and social stability. The emphasis on supporting students in difficult situations highlights the government's social policy aimed at reducing social disparities and ensuring equal educational opportunities for all children. This initiative is expected to foster the development of future human resources and contribute to overall societal advancement.
