FAO Organizes Expert Working Group Meeting on Public-Private Partnership Policy Dialogue in Cambodia

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) organized an Expert Working Group Meeting on Public-Private Partnership Policy Dialogue for the PEARL Project on July 23, 2026. The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Phet Pichra, Deputy Director-General of the General Directorate of Local Communities of the Ministry of Environment, and Mr. Daniel Mate, Senior Project Officer of the PEARL Project. The meeting agreed on priority topics for national policy documents to be submitted to the National Council for Sustainable Development and the National Committee for Sub-National Democratic Development. These documents will be based on the experiences of farmer communities and will seek practical solutions in areas such as climate-resilient agriculture, natural resource management, market access, finance, and local development. The PEARL Project, supported by the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and the Ministry of Environment, with technical support from FAO, is working to ensure that the voices of smallholder farmers are incorporated into future policies, creating better opportunities, enhancing climate resilience, and supporting sustainable livelihoods. Representatives from various government ministries, financial institutions, research organizations, and development partners attended the meeting to review data and information collected from public forums held in Kampong Thom, Preah Vihear, Siem Reap, and Oudor Meanchey provinces.
