Battambang Province Honors High School Graduates with 'A' Grades, Provincial Leaders Offer Encouragement

In Battambang Province, western Cambodia, a gathering was held on September 22 at the provincial hall to honor 90 students (including 43 females) who achieved the highest "A" grade in the high school exit examinations (Certificate of Secondary Education Examination) held on August 10-11, 2026. The event was presided over by Provincial Council Chairman Ouy Ry and Governor Sok Lou. Governor Sok Lou expressed gratitude to parents, school administrators, and teachers for their efforts in guiding the students to achieve "A" grades. He encouraged the successful students, stating that this achievement is merely the first step. He urged them to continue their studies in higher education or vocational and technical training, choosing paths aligned with their capabilities and interests. He also called on them to stay away from drugs and other vices, and to become exemplary citizens who will be strong pillars for the nation. The governor highlighted that the Cambodian government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet, prioritizes "human capital" as a key element in the "Pentagonal Strategy Phase 1." He emphasized that strengthening the quality of education is a robust foundation for nurturing human resources that contribute to the nation's economic and social development. The examinations were conducted across 14 centers with 380 classrooms throughout Battambang Province. A total of 9,421 candidates (including 5,513 females) registered, with 9,343 (including 5,478 females) actually taking the exam, and 78 candidates (including 35 females) were absent. The overall pass rate was 81.39% (with females achieving 86.55%). In addition to the "A" grades, 436 students received "B" grades, 1,217 received "C" grades, 2,643 received "D" grades, and 3,218 received "E" grades. Source: AKP Khmer
