Inspection of Regional Dev. Works: MGY Region CM inspected regional development works

Magway Region Chief Minister U Tin Ko Ko, accompanied by region ministers and district and township-level departmental officials, inspected a model SinThukha paddy field in WaChan Kar Village, Taungdwingyi Township on July 19. During the inspection, the Chief Minister heard reports on Township's agricultural sector, where 194,046 acres have been cultivated so far in the 2026–2027 cultivation season against a target of 413,839 acres. Efforts are underway to plant remaining acreage, meeting the cultivation target. The Chief Minister coordinated the needs and later met local farmers. The Chief Minister and party later visited the Beikthano Archaeological Museum, located in the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Beikthano Ancient Cultural Zone. The museum displays 497 artefacts, including Stone, Bronze and Iron Age objects, fossils, traditional house models, inscriptions, Pyu literary materials, bricks, coins, beads, and exhibits showcasing the 10 arts and crafts of ancient Pyu civilization. They also inspected the renovated Ywathar Earthen Lake near Ywathar Village in Magway Township, which is implemented by Region Development Fund and met with local farmers. During the inspection, the Chief Minister instructed officials to systematically hand over renovation records and information to the Village Dam Committee. He said the Irrigation and Water Utilization Management Department would provide technical support for irrigation water distribution and maintenance, while the Village Dam Committee would manage the earthen lake with continued assistance from the regional government. Ywathar Earthen Lake is a village-managed reservoir. Following the renovation, it is expected to provide irrigation water for 735 acres of monsoon paddy fields and drinking water for 796 residents from 183 households within the Village, it’s reported.
