PM Hun Manet's Aid Distributed to Riverbank Collapse Victims in Kampong Cham

Humanitarian aid from Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet has been delivered to residents affected by riverbank collapses in Srey Santhor district, Kampong Cham province. On September 19th, Mr. Un Chantha, Governor of Kampong Cham province and Chairman of the Provincial Disaster Management Committee, led a working group to distribute the aid to 23 affected families. Governor Un Chantha stated that the support from the provincial leadership and local authorities is in line with Prime Minister Hun Manet's principle of addressing the difficulties faced by citizens. He added that in the past rainy season, at least over 7,000 families were affected by the Mekong River's flooding, along with approximately over 600 hectares of farmland. The aid provided by Prime Minister Hun Manet and Madam Net Savoeun to the 23 families included 25kg of rice, one box of instant noodles, one dozen cans of mackerel, one dozen bottles of fish sauce, one dozen bottles of soy sauce, one box of bottled water, one tent, and a kit (mosquito net, blanket, krama, sarong) for each family, along with 400,000 Riel (approximately $100 USD). On the occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial Disaster Management Committee instructed relevant officials and local authorities to collect precise data to develop an emergency rescue plan and to effectively and accurately restore infrastructure and damages caused by the ongoing riverbank collapses.
