Tanzaukk receives 3rd prize in 2026 ASEAN SMOKE-FREE AWARD

Tanzaukk Township in Mon State has won the 3rd prize in the 2026 ASEAN SMOKE-FREE AWARD, according to the Ministry of Health. The Ministry of Health is working with partner organizations and social organizations to combat smoking and tobacco products, and is implementing the establishment of smoke-free areas in accordance with the "Law on Control of Smoking and Tobacco Products (2006)" to protect the public from the dangers of secondhand smoke. In carrying out these activities, the 3rd prize in the 2026 ASEAN SMOKE – FREE AWARD was awarded to Tanzaukk Township in Mon State, along with Depok City in Indonesia, Kuala Lumpur City in Malaysia, Pasay City in the Philippines, and Maha Sarakham City in Thailand. The 2nd prize was awarded to George Town City in Malaysia, and the 1st prize to Baguio City in the Philippines, according to the statement. At the 17th ASEAN Health Ministers Meeting held in Kuala Lumpur City, Malaysia, Dr. Myat Wunna Soe, Director General of the Department of Public Health, received the 3rd prize on behalf of the Ministry of Health.
