Vietnam's Top Leader Meets ASEAN Diplomats, Urges United Community

Party General Secretary and State President To Lam met with ASEAN diplomats, calling for the strengthening of unity and resilience within the regional bloc. During the meeting, General Secretary To Lam highly valued the bloc's achievements across political, security-defence, economic, and socio-cultural areas. He expressed confidence that member states would uphold solidarity, strengthen cooperation, reinforce ASEAN's centrality, and successfully realize the ASEAN Community Vision 2045. Vietnam is at the forefront of driving the ASEAN Community Vision 2045. A Malaysian scholar has lauded Vietnam as a strategic linchpin for the ASEAN Vision 2045. Vietnam and ASEAN continue to strengthen the foundations of regional peace. Under Vietnam's one-party system, the Communist Party plays a central role in national governance, and strengthening regional cooperation frameworks like ASEAN is a key pillar of Vietnam's foreign policy. Particularly, amidst complex relations with China, enhancing ASEAN unity is seen as indispensable for safeguarding Vietnam's national interests. For Vietnam, which continues to experience economic growth, stability and coordination within the ASEAN region are directly linked to maintaining supply chains and expanding markets. General Secretary To Lam's call this time can be seen as an expression of Vietnam's ambition to further invigorate the regional economy.
