New Administrative Building Construction Begins at Special Education School in Cambodia

A groundbreaking ceremony for a new administrative building was held on September 10, 2026, at the Special Education School in Ta Khmao City, Kampot Province, Cambodia. The new one-story building will measure 8 meters wide, 15 meters long, and consist of three rooms. According to Chan Sarin, director of the Ta Khmao Special Education School, the institution currently has 108 staff members and a total of 350 students. The construction of the new administrative building is intended to meet the urgent need for more efficient and smoother administrative work, meetings, and daily operations. His Excellency Khieu Kanharith, Senior Advisor to His Majesty the King, expressed his delight and praised the dedicated efforts of the school management and all teachers. He commended their commitment to educating students with special needs, equipping them with life skills, and fostering their full participation in society. The new building is expected to play a significant role in enhancing the school's educational infrastructure and improving the working environment. His Excellency also emphasized his deep concern for the special education sector, particularly for children and youth with special needs, including those who are blind or deaf, ensuring they receive equal, quality, and inclusive educational opportunities. In addition to these achievements, His Excellency Khieu Kanharith and his wife have consistently shown concern for the students' welfare by regularly donating 500 kilograms of rice to the school each month. Meanwhile, Madam Khieu Tep Rangsikanyarith, Honorary President of the Cambodian Women's Association for Peace and Development, actively solicits donations from philanthropists annually to support and improve the operations of the special education school.
