La French Tech Phnom Penh Launches 'Rendez-Vous Tech' to Foster Digital Ecosystem
La French Tech Phnom Penh is launching 'Rendez-Vous Tech' to boost Cambodia's digital economy. Unveiled at the Cambodia Digital Trade Forum in September, the initiative aims to create networking and collaboration opportunities for local and international entrepreneurs and tech professionals.
La French Tech Phnom Penh will launch its new “Rendez-Vous Tech” initiative during the third Cambodia Digital Trade Forum and Online Expo, taking place at the Koh Pich Expo in Phnom Penh from September 11–13, 2026. The initiative is designed to create more opportunities for entrepreneurs, startups, companies and technology professionals to meet, exchange ideas and build practical connections within Cambodia’s expanding digital ecosystem. Rendez-Vous Tech is expected to become a recurring format offering accessible spaces for introductions, knowledge sharing and potential collaboration among Cambodia’s technology and startup communities. Participants can register for the Cambodia Digital Trade Forum through the official event website. Digital Trade Forum Brings Together Public and Private Sectors Organised by Cambodia’s Ministry of Commerce, the Digital Trade Forum will bring together government representatives, development partners, business leaders, startups and technology professionals. The opening ceremony is scheduled to feature Minister of Commerce Cham Nimul alongside Vijay Kumar Akasam, Country Operations Head for Cambodia at the Asian Development Bank; a representative of the United States Embassy; and Kensuke Tsuchiya, President of Toyota Cambodia. The programme will also include a high-level dialogue titled “Cambodia’s Digital Trade Infrastructure Towards 2030”. Representatives from the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications and the National Bank of Cambodia are expected to participate alongside Neak Oknha Sear Rithy, founder and chairman of WorldBridge International Group. A Cambodia–US–UK joint networking reception will also be organised with the British and US embassies as part of the three-day programme. French Tech Booth and Technology Talk Planned La French Tech Phnom Penh will operate a dedicated booth throughout the forum, providing a meeting point for members of the technology community, entrepreneurs, startups, companies and other participants interested in innovation. Its planned activities include: A La French Tech Phnom Penh booth operating from September 11–13. A technology talk by Thierry Tea, co-president of La French Tech Phnom Penh, during the TEDxPhnomPenh Salon on September 12. Informal meetings with Cambodia’s technology and startup community. Meet-ups involving Cambodian startups and French startups operating in Cambodia. Opportunities for entrepreneurs and ecosystem participants to connect directly with the organisation. La French Tech Phnom Penh said its presence at the event would support its role as a connector between public institutions, international partners and Cambodia’s local technology ecosystem. Turning Meetings Into Practical Connections Rendez-Vous Tech is based on the principle that useful professional connections often begin through informal conversations. Through regular meet-ups and community activities, the initiative aims to help participants discover new projects, exchange experience, identify potential partners and contribute to the development of Cambodia’s wider startup ecosystem. “Rendez-Vous Tech is about bringing people together. We want to create regular opportunities for entrepreneurs, startups and technology professionals to meet, exchange ideas and discover potential opportunities to work together,” Tea said. He added that the Digital Trade Forum was a natural venue for launching the initiative because its objectives closely align with those of La French Tech Phnom Penh. La French Tech is a French government initiative led by the French Tech Mission under France’s Ministry of the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty. Its Phnom Penh chapter connects Cambodian and French entrepreneurs while supporting Cambodia’s startup ecosystem through partnerships with public institutions, companies and the international technology community.
