Hung Yen Agricultural Products Thrive on Digital Economy Platform
Agricultural products from Hung Yen province, Vietnam, including its signature longan, are finding new markets through e-commerce platforms. This shift towards the digital economy is shortening the distance between producers and consumers, contributing to the revitalization of the local economy.
During the Hung Yen Longan Festival and Trade Promotion event held in Hung Yen province, northern Vietnam, a significant transformation was observed in the trade of local agricultural products. Longan, along with other representative agricultural products from Hung Yen, has confidently stepped onto the technological stage thanks to the momentum of e-commerce. This serves as vivid proof that Resolution 57 on digital economic development has truly permeated daily life, reaching every cooperative, business, and farmer, thereby opening up a modern and highly potential method for consuming agricultural products. During the event, two livestream promotion sessions held on digital platforms like TikTok attracted strong attention from the community. In a single live broadcast, the program recorded over 15,000 views, generated approximately 50,000 interactions, and successfully closed nearly 500 orders. Notably, the event was not only supported by content creators, KOLs, and KOCs but also directly attended by leaders from the E-commerce and Digital Economy Department, the Trade Promotion Department (under the Ministry of Industry and Trade), and the Department of Industry and Trade of Hung Yen province. This presence signifies the high determination of the entire political system to accompany and support the people in accessing new economic development tools. The aforementioned figures confirm the strong appeal of Hung Yen's agricultural products in the digital environment, while also demonstrating that livestreaming combined with e-commerce is becoming an extremely effective trade promotion channel. Through the application of digital transformation, the gap between producers and consumers has been maximally shortened, and intermediaries are gradually being eliminated, thereby significantly enhancing the value and brand of local OCOP (One Commune One Product) products. It can be affirmed that proactively bringing agricultural products to online platforms is not merely a sales activity, but also an important step in innovating the production and business mindset of the people in line with the digital economy orientation. With over 100 booths and a series of rich cultural experience and supply-demand connection activities, the Hung Yen Longan Festival has affirmed the strong vitality of Resolution 57 in practice, creating an important driving force for Vietnamese agricultural products to reach further and improve the material and spiritual lives of the people.
