Lacson Vows No Letup in Probe of 'Anomalous' Taguig Projects
Senator Panfilo Lacson affirmed that his investigation into allegedly anomalous infrastructure projects in Taguig City is proceeding without any slowdown, vowing to pursue leads and evidence.
Senator Panfilo Lacson on Saturday said that there was no slowdown in his investigation into allegedly anomalous infrastructure projects in Taguig City. Lacson previously vowed to look into projects in Taguig—the political bailiwick of Senator Alan Peter Cayetano—after Cayetano publicly accused him of doubling his net worth during his tenure in the Senate. "Today, a Saturday, we haven’t slowed down in following up the leads to maintain the momentum gained since we started investigating the anomalous slope protection and drainage projects in Taguig," Lacson said. "Our goal is to reach its logical conclusion," he added. GMA News Online has reached out to Cayetano's office for a comment and will update the story once they respond. Lacson, a former chairperson of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee, had also accused Cayetano of securing budget insertions amounting to P6.79 billion. There were also several projects in Taguig that were allegedly left unfinished, Lacson said. In a later statement, Lacson said he was gathering enough witnesses and evidence that could put Cayetano in jail. — VBL, GMA News
