PHNOM PENH, Sept 2, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia has launched a network of 24‑hour emergency contacts covering immigration, security, foreigner assistance and urgent medical services, aiming to reinforce its image as a safe and welcoming destination, officials said Thursday. The Secretariat of the Inter‑Ministerial Committee for Facilitating Travel and Transportation at International Border Gates announced the hotlines on Aug 31, urging tourism operators and the public to help disseminate the information. Officials said the initiative reflects broader cooperation among ministries and agencies to provide timely assistance and resolve problems encountered by tourists. For entry and exit issues, travelers can contact the General Department of Immigration at 068 386 699, 078 386 699 or 087 386 699. For security emergencies, the National Police can be reached at 117, while the Tourism Police Department is available at 016 654 736. Foreign visitors can also call the Rapid Response Team for Foreigners at 031 201 2345 or 031 601 2345. For medical emergencies, the ambulance service is available at 119. Cambodia’s core emergency codes — 117 for police, 118 for fire and 119 for ambulances — are officially listed by the Telecommunication Regulator. The dedicated foreigner hotline is also recognized by the U.S. State Department and Australia’s Smartraveller as a 24/7 service. The announcement comes as Cambodia continues to emphasize tourist safety. Officials said the hotlines give visitors clearer guidance on where to seek help, while offering operators a common set of contacts to assist guests. Authorities said coordinated emergency assistance is now part of the wider tourism experience, supporting Cambodia’s objective of maintaining visitor confidence and strengthening its reputation as a trusted international destination.
