Palace Declares Special Non-Working Days in Six Philippine Areas This September

The Office of the President has declared special non-working days in six areas across the Philippines for the month of September. These proclamations aim to allow citizens to participate in local celebrations and festivities. Under Proclamation No. 1410, September 5, 2026, has been designated as a special non-working day in General Santos City to commemorate the 28th Tuna Festival. Proclamation No. 1415 similarly designates September 10 as a special non-working day in the province of Quirino for its 55th Founding Anniversary celebration. In Bontoc, Mountain Province, September 16 will be a special non-working day as the municipality celebrates its founding anniversary, as per Proclamation No. 1416. Furthermore, Proclamation No. 1417 declares September 17 a special non-working day in Zamboanga del Sur for the province's 74th Founding Anniversary. Bansalan, Davao del Sur, will also observe its 74th Founding Anniversary with a special non-working day on September 18, as per Proclamation No. 1418. Victoria, Oriental Mindoro, will also be a special non-working day on September 18 to mark its 73rd Founding Anniversary, following Proclamation No. 1419. These proclamations were signed by Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, by the authority of the President. These holidays are intended to provide opportunities for residents to engage with their local traditions and communities. While they offer respite and a chance to celebrate, they can also lead to temporary disruptions in local economic activities.
