AKP Phnom Penh, September 15, 2026 -- H.E. Gen. Vong Pisen, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF), met Tuesday with Brig. Gen. Antero S. Narcise, Deputy Inspector General of the Philippine Armed Forces, to strengthen bilateral military ties and enhance the efficiency of the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT). During the meeting in Phnom Penh on Sept. 15, H.E. Gen. Vong Pisen expressed appreciation to the Philippine government and its Department of National Defense for deploying AOT personnel to Cambodia. He emphasised that their presence is critical for verifying and monitoring the implementation of the ceasefire agreement effectively. H.E. Gen. Vong Pisen also briefed the visiting delegation on the current situation along the Cambodia-Thailand border to provide the Philippine officers with an accurate on-the-ground assessment. In response, Brig. Gen. Narcise affirmed that the Philippines will continue to monitor the work of the ASEAN Observer Team closely.
