Aitapyu High School in flood-affected Letmeuknar Township reopens with day and night classes for matriculation exam students

It is reported that day and night classes have been reopened at Aitapyu High School in Letmeuknar Township, which was affected by floods, for students who will be taking the matriculation exam. The school reopened on September 15, after being temporarily closed for over a month. "Starting from the 15th, we have reopened classes for Grade 12 students, both day and night. As of today (September 16), there are 141 students. A total of 27 individuals, including 17 teachers and 10 other assigned personnel, are taking turns to manage the classes. We are coordinating with school well-wishers and local organizations to arrange everything, including meal preparation. Accommodation and meals are also provided. Officials from the Ministry of Education are also providing assistance. Due to concerns about the children being affected by the flood disaster, we have decided not to send them home and are operating with the collective responsibility of school well-wishers, offering both day and night classes," explained the headmaster of Aitapyu High School. It is reported that the flood caused damage to over 300 feet of the school's brick wall and internal roads at Aitapyu High School. "We received news about the situation on the 30th. The Township Education Officer announced the temporary closure of schools on the 31st. All the children were safe. The temporary school closure lasted for about 34 days. We have reopened with the aim of improving the pass rate for the matriculation exam. We are also planning to gradually reopen classes for other grades once the flood risk has subsided," the headmaster added. It is known that Aitapyu High School has a total of 1059 students from Grade 6 to Grade 12, and classes for matriculation exam students have now been reopened.
