As Vice President Sara Duterte faces an impeachment trial, young lawyer Justine Gular has joined her defense team. Gular, one of the youngest members of Duterte's legal counsel, is serving as part of the defense team in the impeachment proceedings.
MANILA, Philippines – Among the lawyers defending Vice President Sara Duterte before the impeachment court is lawyer Justin Nicol Gular, one of the youngest lawyers in her legal team. Like many of his fellow counsel in the defense, Gular is a senior associate of the Fortun, Narvasa and Salazar (FNS) Law Firm. READ: Who is lawyer Lindon Bacquel? Born in 1995, Gular was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2022. He also serves as the defense deputy spokesperson, alongside lawyer Michael Poa who serves as the team’s main spokesman. Gular earned his bachelor of science in Psychology, as well as his juris doctor degree at the University of San Carlos. Based on the FNS website, Gular also has several debate championships under his belt. His listed areas of practice include corporate and commercial law, corporate rehabilitation, family and estates, labor, litigation and dispute resolution, as well as projects, mining and natural resources. Duterte is facing the impeachment trial amid allegations of misusing confidential funds, unexplained wealth, bribery and grave threats.
