Thailand Boosts Rainmaking Project with New Dry Ice Factory

Thai paint giant TOA has inaugurated its seventh dry ice production facility to support the Royal Rainmaking Project, an initiative originating from the Thai monarchy. The new factory, located in Nakhon Sawan province, will enhance the supply of dry ice used in the project, which aims to promote rainfall in areas experiencing water scarcity. The Royal Rainmaking Project was initiated by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) in the 1960s. It utilizes scientific and technological methods to induce artificial rainfall, playing a crucial role in Thailand's agriculture and water resource management. Dry ice, solid carbon dioxide, acts as a catalyst by stimulating the formation of raindrops when dispersed into clouds. TOA's investment in this new facility underscores its commitment to contributing to Thai society by supporting this long-standing national endeavor.
