Zamboanga del Sur Firms Up Agriculture, Fisheries Roadmap

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur – Zamboanga del Sur has firmed up its agriculture and fisheries roadmap through the Provincial Commodity Investment Plan (PCIP) 2026–2031, a blueprint identifying 15 priority commodities to drive growth and strengthen rural communities. Backed by the Department of Agriculture–Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP), the plan is designed to focus investments on commodities with the highest potential for competitiveness and economic impact within the province. The PCIP aims to enhance productivity, improve market access, and increase the income of farmers and fisherfolk, thereby fostering sustainable development in the region. By leveraging its rich natural resources and agricultural and fisheries potential, Zamboanga del Sur seeks to diversify its economy and revitalize its local economy.
