Cambodia Deploys 33,000 Officials for Fair Grade 12 Exams
Cambodia's Ministry of Education has mobilized over 33,000 officials and education staff to ensure fairness and transparency for more than 150,000 candidates in the upcoming Grade 12 national examinations. The exams are scheduled for August 10-11, with results to be announced nationwide on September 2.
PHNOM PENH, Aug 7, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia has mobilized more than 33,000 officials and education staff to oversee next week’s Grade 12 national examinations, reaffirming its pledge to ensure fairness and transparency under the principle that “Those who study will pass,” the education ministry said Thursday. The ministry said 151,238 candidates, including 84,735 female students, have registered to sit the exams scheduled for Aug 10‑11. Of the total, 37,445 are enrolled in the science stream and 113,793 in the social science stream. Exams will be conducted at 244 centers nationwide, comprising 6,104 rooms. The science stream will be hosted at 68 centers with 1,526 rooms, while the social science stream will be held at 176 centers with 4,578 rooms. Each room will generally accommodate 25 students, except for final rooms and those designated for special education candidates. Marking will run from Aug 13‑19, followed by computerized score tabulation and verification from Aug 20‑30. Results are scheduled to be announced nationwide on Sept 2. To manage the process, 33,762 personnel have been assigned, including 4,290 ministry officials and 29,472 staff from provincial and municipal departments. Of these, 22,399 will oversee the written exams, 10,612 will participate in marking, and 751 officials will handle computerized score tabulation. The ministry said exam papers are prepared centrally, with separate sets for science and social science streams, each covering seven subjects. Security and health measures will be coordinated with six institutions, including the Interior Ministry, Health Ministry and Anti‑Corruption Unit. Candidates are strictly prohibited from bringing phones, smart devices or unauthorized documents into exam rooms.
