Manila Water, MWF Aid Montalban Flood Recovery with Safe Water, Operational Support
In response to recent flooding in Montalban, Rizal, the Manila Water Foundation (MWF) and Manila Water Company have provided safe drinking water and operational support to affected communities, collaborating with local government to aid in rapid recovery efforts.
MANILA, Philippines ‚ As recovery efforts continue in communities affected by recent jhabagat-induced flooding, Manila Water Foundation (MWF), together with the Manila Water Company’s Marikina Service Area, reinforced its support for residents of Montalban, Rizal, through the provision of safe drinking water and operational assistance to local government response efforts. In coordination with the Municipal Government of Montalban, MWF handed over 350 units of 5-gallon potable drinking water to families displaced by the flooding in Kasiglahan 1K2 Phase 1 and Pag-asa Village. The relief assistance reached 2,466 individuals from the flood-affected communities of Barangays San Isidro and San Jose. Manila Water’s Marikina Service Area also mobilized resources to assist local recovery operations. A total of five (5) water tankers were deployed to provide emergency water supply in affected areas, while four (4) trucks were dispatched to support clearing operations and help local authorities restore normalcy in impacted barangays. The turnover of the hydration assistance was led by Manila Water Foundation and Manila Water representatives alongside Montalban Municipal Mayor Ronnie Evangelista and barangay leaders from San Jose. Recognizing the vital role of clean water during disaster recovery, Mayor Evangelista expressed his appreciation for the timely intervention. “In times of disaster, access to clean and safe drinking water is essential. We are grateful to Manila Water and Manila Water Foundation for their immediate response and continued partnership in helping our communities recover and rebuild,” said Evangelista.
