Vietnam Prioritizes Resource Waste Prevention to Boost Development

The Communist Party of Vietnam has clearly defined the prevention of resource waste as a task of equal importance to eradicating corruption and negativity, aiming to unlock potential for national development. General Secretary and President To Lam, who also chairs the Central Steering Committee for Anti-corruption, Anti-waste, and Anti-negativity, has instructed to further strengthen this effort in the new phase. This directive is set to become a crucial pillar of Vietnam's national strategy for sustainable economic growth and improving the quality of life for its citizens, achievements the country has made in recent years. Resource waste not only hinders economic growth but can also become a breeding ground for increased environmental burden and social discontent, prompting the Party to demonstrate a resolute stance in addressing it. Under the policy of "Promoting the fight against corruption, waste, and negativity in the new phase," the Party calls for tackling this issue with new thinking and methods that break from traditional frameworks. This can be seen as a strong manifestation of Vietnam's intent to maximize development resources and achieve more efficient and sustainable socio-economic development within its one-party system. Particularly, as economic and geopolitical relations with China become more complex, the effective utilization of domestic resources is an indispensable element in enhancing national autonomy and development capabilities.
