AKP Phnom Penh, August 5, 2026 -- Cambodia has been unanimously selected to host the 12th Asian ITF Taekwon-Do Championships in 2028, defeating bids from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. The decision was made during the General Assembly of the Asian Taekwon-Do Federation (ATF) held in Mongolia on Aug. 4, according to H.E. Keo Remy, Senior Minister and President of the Cambodia ITF Taekwon-Do Federation. H.E. Keo Remy attributed Cambodia's successful bid to the country's proven capability in organising major international sporting events, particularly the successful hosting of the Southeast Asian ITF Taekwon-Do Championships. He said the continental event would enhance Cambodia's international profile while attracting tourists, creating jobs and contributing to economic growth. The ATF General Assembly was convened on the sidelines of the 11th Asian ITF Taekwon-Do Championships, taking place in Mongolia from Aug. 3 to 9.
