Cambodia Focuses on Military and Veteran Support: Men Sam An Oversees Housing Construction

Senior Advisor Men Sam An of Cambodia has emphasized the initiative to support the construction of thousands of homes for military and veteran families who are economically distressed and lack proper housing. She conveyed her consistent high regard and unwavering support for the well-being and improvement of the lives of military personnel and veterans. On September 6th, Men Sam An presented a concrete house with a galvanized iron roof (8 meters wide by 12 meters long), along with furniture and a sum of money, to former soldier Sam Sarong and his wife Khvai Nieng in Svay Tontum village, Trapeang Stoeung commune, Romenh Haek district, Svay Rieng province. During the event, she conveyed greetings from Prime Minister Hun Sen, his wife Bun Rany Hun Sen, Prime Minister Hun Manet, and his wife Pich Chanmony. She reiterated the initiative to support the construction of thousands of homes for economically distressed and homeless military and veteran families, alongside providing free medical examinations and other healthcare assistance at military hospitals. Furthermore, she instructed all levels of authorities to consistently provide care and warm support to military families within their jurisdictions. She stated that this attention serves as a significant encouragement for soldiers on the front lines, reinforcing their morale and confidence that their families are well-cared for. Sam Sarong, the recipient of the donated house, is a brave soldier who served in the 42nd Infantry Brigade of the 4th Military Region, tasked with territorial integrity protection near the Ta Moan Thom temple. After undergoing two hip surgeries, he suffered severe illness and was sent back to his home in Svay Tontum village, Romenh Haek district, Svay Rieng province. Recognizing the difficulties faced by Sam Sarong and his family, provincial authorities, leaders, and Senior Advisor Men Sam An, who heads the Cambodian People's Party working group for Svay Rieng province, facilitated the construction of a new house to provide suitable accommodation.
