Ferry Trips Canceled Across Philippines Due to Tropical Storm Kiyapo
Ferry operations in parts of Bohol, Masbate, Eastern Leyte, and Samar were canceled on Friday due to Tropical Storm Kiyapo, which is bringing rough sea conditions. Yellow rainfall warnings were also issued for several provinces, with vessel trips suspended in Palawan.
MANILA, Philippines — Ferry operations in parts of Bohol, Masbate, Eastern Leyte and Samar were cancelled on Friday, July 24 as Tropical Storm Kiyapo continued to bring rough sea conditionss, the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) said. In an advisory, PPA said the shipping lines with cancelled trips are as follows: Bohol READ: Kiyapo putting 6,947 barangays at risk of landslides, floods – OCD Masbate Eastern Leyte and Samar In it’s 11 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) also placed Abra, Kalinga, Ilocos Sur, Isabela, La Union, Benguet, Occidental Mindoro, Antique, Iloilo, Guimaras, Negros Occidental and Palawan under a yellow rainfall warning, with 50 to 100 millimeters of rain expected on Friday due to Kiyapo. Earlier, the Coast Guard District Palawan suspended the trips of all vessels and motorboats in the municipalities of Rizal, Quezon and Balabac until further notice because of the storm. /dp
