Cambodian Environment Minister Fully Supports Investment Projects, Pledges Cooperation for Environmental Protection and Resource Management

Dr. Eang Sophalleth, the Minister of Environment of Cambodia, has announced his full support for all investment projects and businesses in the country. The Ministry of Environment will continue to provide cooperation and coordination, as well as expand partnerships, to protect the environment and manage natural resources. This statement was made during a meeting held at the Ministry of Environment on August 4, 2026, to discuss the progress of the terrestrial optical fiber network project in Cambodia and the AAE-1 submarine cable network project. The meeting was attended by Mr. He Leping, CEO of CFOCN. Minister Eang Sophalleth added that supporting sustainable development is a consistent policy of the Ministry of Environment. The ministry supports all investment projects in Cambodia and, at the same time, strengthens cooperation with national and international partners, communities, and stakeholders to protect the environment and natural resources. This effort aligns with the strategic plan for the environmental sector and, based on the government's policies and strategies, aims to attract international capital and promote long-term economic growth. Mr. He Leping, CEO of CFOCN, expressed gratitude for the support and encouragement from the Ministry of Environment and highly appreciated the management and administration of the environmental sector by the Cambodian government. Concurrently, the Ministry of Environment also expressed additional support for current investing companies that demonstrate high responsibility towards society and the environment.
