Hyundai Tucson Hybrid to Launch in Vietnam Under 999 Million VND
Hyundai Thanh Cong will launch the new Tucson Hybrid in Vietnam in early September, with an expected price point below 999 million VND. This move is poised to intensify competition in the C-segment SUV market and diversify hybrid vehicle options for Vietnamese consumers.
Hyundai Thanh Cong (HTV) has announced that the new Hyundai Tucson Hybrid will officially launch in Vietnam in early September. This model marks the introduction of a hybrid powertrain in the C-segment SUV category for the Vietnamese market, offering consumers a new choice. According to local sources, the expected price for the Tucson Hybrid will be under 999 million VND (approximately $40,000 USD). This pricing strategy is set to intensify pressure on competitors in the segment, such as the Honda CR-V e:HEV (priced between 1.17-1.25 billion VND) and the Kia Sorento HEV (priced from 999 million to 1.099 billion VND). The sub-999 million VND price point is expected to give the Tucson Hybrid a significant competitive advantage. The arrival of the Tucson Hybrid will further bolster Hyundai Thanh Cong's hybrid vehicle offerings, joining the Santa Fe Hybrid (1.369 billion VND) and the upcoming Palisade Hybrid (expected price of 1.5-1.7 billion VND). The hybrid version retains the exterior design language and equipment configuration of the current Turbo 1.6 T-GDi version available in Vietnam. The primary difference lies in its new hybrid powertrain, which combines a Smartstream G1.6 T-GDi gasoline engine with an electric motor, producing a combined output of 231.8 horsepower and 367 Nm of torque. The Tucson Hybrid measures 4,640mm in length, 1,865mm in width, and 1,700mm in height, with a slight increase in height compared to its internal combustion engine counterpart. The wheelbase remains unchanged at 2,755mm. Other features include an 8-speaker Bose sound system, the e-Motion intelligent driving assistance system, and a 4-stage energy regenerative braking system. Additionally, the Tucson Hybrid will continue to be equipped with a comprehensive ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems) package.
