Massive Warehouse Fire Erupts in Ho Chi Minh City Residential Area; Efforts Focused on Containment
A warehouse exceeding 1,000 square meters, storing packaging materials and frozen goods, caught fire on the afternoon of July 25 in Ho Chi Minh City. While the blaze was contained and prevented from spreading to nearby residences, over one-third of the warehouse was destroyed, with significant damage to goods. The cause is under investigation.
A massive fire broke out on the afternoon of July 25 at a warehouse exceeding 1,000 square meters, storing packaging materials and frozen goods, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The blaze began around 4 PM near the intersection of Pham Hung and Nguyen Van Linh streets, approximately one kilometer from the Trung Son residential area. Upon detecting the fire, employees fled the premises, and together with residents, attempted to extinguish the flames using available means, but to no avail. Seven fire trucks and over 50 firefighters arrived at the scene to combat the warehouse fire. Photo: Minh Hoang Minh Tan, a resident living near the scene, reported that the warehouse typically packaged canned bird's nest drinks. He and many others rushed to assist when the fire started, but the flames spread too rapidly. Some car owners parked near the warehouse hastily moved their vehicles to avoid being affected. The fire ignited packaging materials and cardboard boxes, rapidly spreading and creating a large column of smoke. As the warehouse is located within a densely populated residential area, many nearby households expressed concern about the fire spreading to their homes. Firefighters from the fire prevention and rescue police force deployed seven specialized vehicles and over 50 officers to the scene. The rescue force divided into two directions, accessing the site from the main road and an adjacent alley, extending water hoses deep inside to extinguish the fire and prevent its spread. More than one-third of the warehouse area was affected by the fire, with a portion of the corrugated iron roof collapsing. Many goods and assets were damaged.
