Laos and Vietnam Enhance Theoretical and Political Cooperation

General Secretary and President of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Thongloun Sisoulith has expressed his intent to further strengthen cooperation between Laos and Vietnam in political, theoretical, and ideological fields during a meeting with a delegation from the Communist Party of Vietnam's (CPV) Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics. The delegation was led by Doan Minh Huan, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics. The academy was visiting Laos to hold working discussions with the National Institute of Politics and Public Administration and the National Institute of Economic and Social Sciences of the Lao PDR. General Secretary and President Thongloun warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed his appreciation for the outcomes of the discussions between the Vietnamese delegation and the two Lao institutes. He encouraged the relevant institutions of both countries to build on the outcomes of their discussions by translating them into concrete, substantive, and in-depth cooperation programs and activities that deliver practical results. Mr. Doan Minh Huan expressed his gratitude to General Secretary and President Thongloun for the warm reception and conveyed greetings and best wishes from the senior leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam to the Lao leader and other Lao leaders. The meeting was held in an atmosphere of close friendship and mutual understanding, reflecting the deepening great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic partnership between Laos and Vietnam. The two sides underscored the important role of political, theoretical, and ideological cooperation, as well as collaboration between their social science research institutions, in strengthening the political and ideological foundations of both Parties and supporting national governance and development. The continued exchange of theoretical and practical experience between the two countries' political theory and social science institutions is expected to contribute to the protection and development of the socialist development paths of Laos and Vietnam in accordance with the specific conditions and realities of each country in the new era. This meeting highlights Laos's commitment to maintaining close ties with Vietnam and its emphasis on cooperation and experience sharing in their socialist paths.
