Siem Reap Authorities and Monks Deliver Supplies to Border Troops in Oddar Meanchey

Authorities from Siem Reap city, along with the abbot of Prasat Kok Chork pagoda and numerous benefactors, delivered essential food and daily necessities to the frontline troops stationed in Oddar Meanchey province on August 1, 2026. Reverend Vichitvongsa Hem Kimsan, abbot of Prasat Kok Chork pagoda, stated that the participation of monks, Siem Reap city authorities, and benefactors reflects Cambodia's 'culture of sharing,' demonstrating that the Cambodian people do not abandon each other in times of hardship. He added that this act signifies solidarity, love, and support for the border defense forces, bridging the gap between the rear (citizens and monks) and the front (military). The initiative aims to alleviate difficulties and shortages faced by the border defense forces and provide warm encouragement and moral support to the heroic soldiers dedicating themselves to the nation. Ms. Chin Savy, Chief of Kok Chork Commune, expressed that the donation of food items to the soldiers demonstrates the profound gratitude and recognition from monks, benefactors, and citizens towards the courageous soldiers who have sacrificed their physical and mental strength, overcoming all hardships to protect the nation's territorial integrity and peace. The charitable gifts delivered to the troops were designated for four locations: the western side of Ta Moan Thom temple, Knar temple, O'Smach, and Chorm Cham, and included items such as bottled water, dried fish, tent tarpaulins, condiments, packaged coffee, medicine, salted fish, cigarettes, candies, pork, mosquito coils, cooking oil, and a sum of money, all contributed with heartfelt sincerity.
