Merit Award Ceremony Held in Myawaddy Township for Students Who Achieved Outstanding Results in 2026 University Entrance Examination

A merit award ceremony was held at the City Home Hall in Myawaddy Park, Ward 3, Myawaddy Township, Kayin State, at 10 AM on July 17, to honor students who achieved outstanding results in the 2026 university entrance examination and the teachers who taught them to achieve distinctions. At the ceremony, U Ye Lin Maung, Chairman of the Myawaddy District Administration Committee and District Administrator, delivered the opening remarks, and officials presented awards to students who achieved distinctions in the 2026 university entrance examination at a rate of K1.1 million per subject. The merit award ceremony was organized by the Myawaddy District/Township Education Department under the supervision of the Kayin State Government and the Myawaddy District/Township Administration Committee, with the cooperation of education philanthropists, city elders, and donors. Among the students who achieved distinctions in the 2026 university entrance examination, 2 students achieved distinctions in 3 subjects, 1 student in 2 subjects, and 12 students in 1 subject. These students were honored with awards, with scholarships of K1.1 million per subject awarded to students who achieved distinctions. Students who achieved distinctions were awarded K100,000 per subject by the Kayin State Government, K400,000 per subject by U Saw Mut Thoon, Chairman of the Kayin State Religious Affairs Association, and his wife Daw Nan Phaw Phaw, and K600,000 per subject from donations by city elders and donors. Afterward, awards were presented to teachers who taught students to achieve distinctions and to schools with excellent pass rates, and a group photo was taken for record. The ceremony was attended by U Ye Lin Maung, District Administrator of Myawaddy District, and district officials; U Zaw Maw Aung, Township Administrator, and township officials; U Saw Mut Thoon, Chairman of the Kayin State Religious Affairs Association and Patron of the Inter-Faith Friendship Association; city elders U Than Shwe (alias U Kala) and donors; U Saw Wa Ler Htoo, Myawaddy District Education Officer; U Moe Kyaw, Township Education Officer, and education staff; Daw May Yadanar Win Maung, Chairperson of the Myawaddy District Women's Affairs Association, and its members; Daw Min May Thet Wa Aye, Chairperson of the Township Maternal and Child Health Association, and its members; Daw Thin Thin Myat, Chairperson of the Traders Association, and its members; student parents; and invited guests.
