Lovers Stabbed to Death in Sihanoukville Market, Suspected Murder-Suicide

A tragic incident occurred in Sihanoukville, a resort city in southern Cambodia, around 7 PM on July 30th, where a couple was found stabbed to death in a market. Based on the scene, it is believed that the man killed the woman before taking his own life. Local media reports suggest that jealousy was likely the motive behind the incident. It is understood that the man attempted to reconcile their relationship, but after being rejected by the woman, a heated argument ensued, leading him to attack her with a knife. The woman died at the scene, and the man, who sustained severe injuries, was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The tragedy took place on Street 6A, Borey New World, #16, Phnom Penh Thmey Commune, Sen Sok District (Postal Code 120913). Authorities are currently investigating the detailed circumstances of the incident, which occurred within a market in Sihanoukville city. In Cambodia, particularly in urban areas, population concentration has increased with economic development in recent years, bringing with it emerging social issues.
