30 Cambodian Educators to Undergo AI-STEM Training in India

The send-off event was attended by H.E. Dr. Sann Vathana, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, along with other distinguished guests. According to the Embassy of India, the upcoming training programme is designed to enhance the teaching capacity of participating educators by strengthening their pedagogical skills and digital competencies. It will provide practical learning on the integration of AI frameworks, along with virtual labs, simulations, and collaborative ICT tools, to support learner-centred and future-ready STEM education. The programme will include interactive sessions, hands-on activities, case studies, and group projects. Addressing the gathering, Ambassador of India H.E. Vanlalvawna Bawitlung underlined the significance of the training programme which aim to integrate AI in the field of STEM education. Reflecting on the long-standing civiliational ties between the two countries, the Ambassador reiterated India’s continued commitment to collaborate with Cambodia in the field of education and expressed confidence that the knowledge and experience gained in India through the training programme will contribute to improving education outcomes in Cambodia and will further strengthen cooperation, mutual understanding, and people-to-people ties between the two nations. He encouraged all the participants to remain ambassadors of friendship and bridges of cooperation between India and Cambodia. The Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) programme, launched by the Government of India on Sept. 15, 1964, is one of India’s flagship initiatives for technical cooperation and capacity building for partner countries. It is demand-driven and aimed at supporting developing nations through training and development opportunities across a wide range of fields. Since 1981, more than 3,300 Cambodians have benefited from ITEC training programmes, with India allocating 300 training slots annually to Cambodian nationals. By C. Nika
