Port Congestion Relief Framework Awaits DOF Review, Signing Date Uncertain

A long-awaited joint administrative order (JAO) aimed at resolving the persistent port congestion issue in the Philippines has advanced to the review stage at the Department of Finance (DOF). However, the signing date for this JAO remains uncertain. The JAO is slated to be signed by the DOF, the Department of Transportation, and the Department of Trade and Industry. Finance Secretary Frederick Au-cedo confirmed the latest status but refrained from specifying a definite signing date.
