Thanh Hóa Province Vows to Boost Political and Economic Performance

On July 17, the 4th session of the Thanh Hóa Provincial People's Council convened, with Deputy National Assembly Chairman Nguyễn Doãn Anh attending and delivering a directive speech. In the first six months of 2026, amidst complex global developments, Thanh Hóa Province maintained its role as a key economic growth driver for the country. The election of National Assembly deputies and deputies for the People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term was successfully conducted in the province, ensuring democracy, legality, and safety. Furthermore, the province is enhancing its digital transformation efforts, building a digital People's Council, and applying artificial intelligence to digitize documents, utilizing electronic document submission and receipt systems, and implementing paperless meeting software. Speaking at the session, Deputy National Assembly Chairman Nguyễn Doãn Anh urged Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front, political-social organizations, armed forces, the business community, and the people of Thanh Hóa Province to continue deeply understanding the Party's guidelines and State laws. He emphasized leveraging historical, cultural, and revolutionary traditions, promoting unity, and urgently reviewing and adjusting growth scenarios to align with practical realities, removing all bottlenecks, and maximizing resource mobilization for development. He stressed that leadership and directive performance, particularly economic growth targets, budget revenue, project progress, and investment disbursement, should be the basis for evaluating the work of organizations and individuals, with the capacity of leaders directly linked to the output of their respective agencies, organizations, and units. The National Assembly Standing Committee highly appreciated the content discussed and decided upon by the Thanh Hóa Provincial People's Council at its session. It expressed its hope that deputies would "discuss to understand, decide to act proactively, and act for the benefit of the nation and its people," aiming to build a society that is orderly, disciplined, safe, healthy, civilized, harmonious, and developed.
