Uy emphasized that cable theft and the unauthorized sale of internet connections should be classified as acts of economic sabotage. He also urged regulators to identify and apprehend those responsible for network disruptions. Uy highlighted the critical need to escalate the fight against infrastructure sabotage, noting that any interruption in services, such as those provided by Converge to over 3.09 million subscribers nationwide, severely impacts the daily lives of individuals reliant on connectivity for education and work. "Criminals who undermine our critical infrastructure must be pursued, prosecuted and punished to the full extent of the law," Uy stated. He further appealed to the government to work closely with the connectivity industry in implementing Republic Act (RA) 12234, also known as the Konektadong Pinoy Act.
