Vietnam Plans 7-Day Tet Holiday in 2027, Starting Lunar December 28

The Ministry of Home Affairs has submitted a proposal to the government for a continuous 7-day Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday in 2027, according to Nguyen Thi Quyen, Deputy Director of the Department of Employment under the ministry. If approved, the holiday is expected to begin on the 28th day of the twelfth lunar month, allowing for a full week of festivities. This extended holiday aims to provide citizens with more time to spend with their families and to rest and recharge. Tet is the most significant holiday in Vietnam, with many people traveling back to their hometowns.
