Kampong Thom Province to Boost Private Investment for Job Creation and Local Economic Growth

The administration of Kampong Thom Province will continue to promote and support private investment by focusing on simplifying administrative procedures and facilitating conditions for investors. This initiative aims to contribute to job creation, increase income for citizens, and stimulate local economic activities. This was decided during a meeting of the Kampong Thom Provincial Investment Sub-Committee held on the morning of September 22, 2026, at the provincial hall. The meeting focused on reviewing and evaluating requests for preferential import duties and tax exemptions for Qualified Investment Projects (QIPs). The meeting was led by Mr. Hem Limeng, Deputy Governor of Kampong Thom, representing HE Noun Pharat, Governor of Kampong Province and Chairman of the Provincial Investment Sub-Committee. It was attended by relevant technical officials and stakeholders. The meeting primarily focused on reviewing and verifying requests for the import of production materials, machinery, factory construction materials, and approved infrastructure materials. This is to ensure that these materials are used for their intended purposes effectively and in line with the objectives of the investment projects, thereby contributing to tangible economic development. Mr. Hem Limeng stated that the Kampong Thom Provincial Administration will continue to promote and support private investment by striving to simplify and reduce administrative procedures and provide conveniences for investors, in line with the Royal Government's policy to attract and promote investment at the local level. Promoting private investment not only helps expand business and production activities but also creates job opportunities, increases income, and improves the living standards of local residents, contributing to the further development of Kampong Thom Province's economy and society. The Kampong Thom Provincial Administration will continue to cooperate with relevant ministries, departments, and stakeholders to review, facilitate, and resolve the challenges faced by investors in a timely manner, with the aim of creating a convenient and effective investment environment within the province.
