Heavy Rains and Floods Worsen in Northern and Central Vietnam

Heavy rains have been observed across wide areas of Vietnam's northern and North Central regions from the night of September 15 to September 16, raising concerns about floods and landslides. Specifically, southern Phu Tho province, Hanoi, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, and Nghe An provinces recorded rainfall between 60-120mm, with some areas exceeding 200mm. In Thanh Hoa province, local authorities are closely monitoring rainfall and flood situations to manage the response. Warnings have been issued for flash floods and landslides in areas including Son La, Phu Tho, Lao Cai, Quang Ninh, and along the stretch from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh. Furthermore, reports indicate that a newly opened road leading to Truong Son border commune in Quang Tri province has been severely damaged by the floods.
